We have a favorite lady who waits on us. She is a blast and knows her stuff. Their plants are not cheap and dried up like a lot of the hardware/home stores. They grow and last beautifully. There is one lady who is not very friendly or helpful, but we ignored her to get the plants we wanted. Lots of great ideas on decorating in the yard, etc. Cute items for the yard. Nicely done. We enjoy shopping there.

This nursery is not worth the time, the gas, or effort. We drove for over 20 min. to get less than 5 seconds of service. The associate was unfriendly and not helpful. Ironically, we received better service from the young Lowe's associate than from the "trained and knowledgeable" staff at Shades of Green. We had to give a star to "rate it," but we originally wanted to give Shades no stars. They're simply not worth it. We suggest going to an alternate local or chain store for better service and plants.

If you live in the Metroplex - this is the nursery for you. I've tried plants from other places - Home Depot & Lowe's, but nothing compares to the quality of Shades of Green's plants. My Lantanas lasted from March until November last year, drought and all. I've bought plants, mulch, dirt, and the occasional accessory from the gift shop and everything was great. I live in Irving and come all the way to Frisco to get my plants each season. The staff is actually very helpful and knowledgable but the majority, if not all, of their plants. There is no reason to waste your time anywhere else - this is the nursery for you.
